America, Its Time to Unite

This is a time where we are being tested as not only a nation, but the world and humanity itself.  Yes, I am a little scared right now.  The Coronavirus is spreading rapidly and protocols are being put in place seemingly almost every hour.  Although these changes may be hard for many, we must accept and adapt or else we will fall apart.

In times of crisis, we can either blame, shame and divide, or we can come together in unity.

Crisis can plant seeds of opportunity.  This is a time where we need to check on our fellow neighbors, offer to help watch their children, or pick up necessities for the elderly.  Maybe if your children have to stay home from school,  a small study group can be in your home for those that do not have access to a computer.

We have an opportunity to bring creative solutions ourselves to our communities.

This is a time to stay grounded, positive and strong.  This is a historical time…do we want to be the nation that’s in the history books documented as the ones that fell apart?  That ransacked grocery stores, became hostile, and angry at the world?  Or we can be the nation that comes together with grace, compassion and looking out for our fellow brothers and sisters.

We cannot change our circumstances.  But we CAN change our thoughts.  Our thoughts drive our feelings, which then drive our actions.

We have the power to create change.

We have the power to rise together with solutions.

We have the power to become one.

A proud American,

Katie Donovan

Thanks for your words of motivation, Katie! It is so easy to mope and complain about circumstances, but that only serves to make it more difficult to muddle along until things improve-and they do eventually improve!

Stay well, and keep up your inspiring words!
